About the role: Under the direct supervision of the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) Production Supervisor, the MRF Cleaner ensures all areas of the MRF facility are maintained in a healthy, safe, and sanitary manner. Areas of responsibility include the change rooms, kitchen, lunchroom area, public areas, such as offices, education room, washrooms, hallways, stairs and closets. Maintains inventory of all cleaning and safety/PPE and First Aid supplies. Launders, repairs, and maintains inventory of coveralls and other garments. Garbage and recyclable collection and outside litter pickup. Prepare tea/coffee for breaks and meetings, organize kitchen area and wash dishes. Other duties as required. This is a unionized position with CUPE 4106.
 
Salary Range: $22.79/hour. This is a permanent full-time position.

Education & experience required:
  • Completion of grade 12 or equivalent
  • Experience using a wide variety of cleaning supplies and equipment
  • Knowledge of hazards and safety precautions
  • Ability to understand labels and instructions on cleaning products
  • Condition of employment is satisfactory criminal record check
